For sale is a 1949 Chevrolet 3800 Panel Truck located in our Indianapolis Showroom. In 1947, General Motors introduced the "Advance Design" truck series with was the first major design post-WWII and ran through the 1955 model year. This series was billed as a bigger, stronger, and sleeker design compared to its predecessor, the "AK Series" truck line. The same basic design family was used for all of its trucks including the Suburban, panel trucks, canopy express and cab-overs. While the five bar grille remained unchanged for the 1949 model year, other features such as appearance and finish had changed. Inner bar grille assemblies were changed to a Waldorf White finish and the windshield still came in two-pieces with a black rubber seal and stainless steel divider bar. The

ton trucks, as well as the 1 ton trucks, received the same new styling but had a longer wheelbase and bed along with longer running boards featured on the 3600 & 3800 series.
This 1949 Chevrolet 3800 Panel Truck is powered by its rebuilt 383 CID Stroker V8, backed by a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission, and running to a 1977 Lincoln Continental rear end with highway friendly 2.50 gears with only 700 miles on the build! The powerful small block was a professionally rebuilt 350 CID V8 that was bored and stroked out to a 383 CID V8 outfitted with an aluminum Edelbrock intake and Edelbrock 4-barrel carburetor! Options on this 1949 Chevrolet 3800 Panel Truck for sale include: AM/FM Radio with CD Player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Cloth Interior, Tilt and Telescopic Wheel, Steel Wheels, and Radial Tires. This sweet panel truck has been through a frame off restoration beginning with the body being taken off the frame and sent off for a chemical dip. The frame was sanded blasted and undercoated and then the truck was put back together and painted in a dark blue color. In the interior you will find a set of nice swivel bucket seats covered in blue cloth, Autometer gauges, Tilt and Telescopic steering column, a custom overhead oak console with courtesy lights and aftermarket AM/FM/CD player, and a beautiful rear oak floor. This truck was nicely upgraded with a "Fatman" Mustang II front suspension setup with power rack and pinion steering, tubular A-arms, and power disc brakes. Out back a 1977 Lincoln rear end was put in and is also outfitted with disc brakes giving you extra braking power. Whether you are looking for something a little different to take a car show or are looking for a unique way to advertise your business, here it is!
